The OTB Roleplay Rules serve to ensure fairness, realism, and respect among players. They are a framework for maintaining immersion while balancing freedom of creativity in a world where every scenario can’t be predicted. The rules are enforced by human administrators who use discretion; punishments depend on intent and context. Players may appeal or report staff decisions if they feel they’ve been treated unfairly. Whenever unclear, players should contact staff in-game via /help or through Discord help channels.
Players must remain respectful out of character (OOC). Harassment, discrimination, or toxicity is forbidden, even in private or external Discords if it relates to OTB activities. Players must obey administrators’ instructions — disputes can later be appealed.
Roleplay (RP) must be maintained at all times, including injuries or accidents, even if unseen by others. Breaking roleplay mid-scene is not allowed; continue the RP and report later.
Example violations: insulting others via private messages, refusing to roleplay after a crash, or breaking character to argue.
Powergaming is performing unrealistic actions or forcing outcomes without player consent. Everything should reflect real-life plausibility. Players cannot RP as NPCs or ignore logical consequences.
Examples: picking up cars, ignoring fall injuries, forcing someone’s death through /me, running while being held at gunpoint, or performing impossible stunts.
Frisking & Robbery:
Searches must be properly roleplayed step-by-step with detailed /me and /do lines before using commands like /frisk or /arob. Only items realistically found can be taken. Items hidden unusually must be pre-roleplayed and preferably screenshotted.
Injury Roleplay:
If a character is “wounded,” they can survive with prompt medical RP unless killed via headshot or “death mode.” PK (Player Kill) or CK (Character Kill) decisions depend on injury type and admin discretion.
Suicide by Cops:
Purposely dying to avoid arrest (e.g., hopeless gunfights with police) leads to revival, double prison time, and possible warnings or bans.
Metagaming means mixing IC (in-character) and OOC information. Players cannot use external chats or OOC sources to influence in-game actions. Characters created by the same player cannot share info, help each other, or be part of the same storyline.
Examples: using Discord to find someone’s location, scouting on one character and acting on another, or referring to your alternate character.
Killing without valid IC reason or provoking fights to justify killing is DM. Lethal force should only occur when truly necessary, such as life-threatening situations.
Vehicles may be used as weapons only if life is in danger and not excessively.
Law enforcement can only be murdered if there’s an active threat to life or guaranteed life imprisonment.
Melee combat targeting the head/throat is considered lethal only if roleplayed explicitly.
Example: shooting someone for racial reasons or minor disputes.
Characters must look realistic and appropriate for the RP world. Unrealistic or glitched appearances aren’t allowed. Clothing should match the weather and situation, and masks may only hide your name if your face is genuinely covered.
Players may use opposite-gender peds but must RP it correctly (e.g., explain surgery or physical traits). Overly sexualized or unrealistic public outfits are forbidden. Admins may force appearance changes if necessary.
Character names must be realistic and not copied from celebrities, media, or memes. They should fit the character’s culture and time period.
Characters must be at least 14 years old, except gang characters (minimum 13). Descriptions should neutrally outline demeanor and appearance, avoiding sexualization.
Each character must be distinct — no recycled personalities or avoiding consequences by name-changing. CKed (permanently killed) characters cannot return under related identities.
Any modification that gives an advantage (scripts, macros, binds, handling edits) is forbidden. Mods are allowed only for visual/aesthetic purposes and must not alter gameplay mechanics.
Controllers are allowed for driving/flying but not for shooting due to aim assist.
Example: using macros to automate RP, vehicle handling mods, or armor cheats.
Exploiting unintended bugs for personal gain is a severe rule break. Bugs must be reported immediately on the forums or to admins, even if unsure. Players who abuse or fail to report exploits (e.g., duplicating items, driving locked vehicles) risk permanent bans. Testing bugs is only allowed under admin supervision.
OTB balances creative freedom with player comfort. “Offensive RP” includes torture, dismemberment, explicit injury details, or sexual acts.
These scenes require consent from all participants and must occur in private or secluded areas. Entering knowingly implies consent; bystanders who dislike it should leave.
Examples: torturing without consent, describing gore excessively, or public sexual RP.
Robberies: cannot involve baiting through advertisements unless approved by an admin via /report.
Scams: capped at $55,000, excluding drugs or weapons (unlimited). Property scams (vehicles, houses) are forbidden. Loans must be honored — CK/name change to escape a debt leads to reversal and punishment.
Chain robberies without realistic portrayal are considered poor RP.
Major or semi-permanent damage to another’s property (e.g., burning it down) requires admin approval. Minor graffiti or vandalism is fine without permission.
To maintain realism, some map areas restrict or forbid crime:
Trading in-game assets for real-world value or giving items to OOC friends without RP reasoning is forbidden.
Examples: selling guns for PayPal money, gifting cars to friends, or underpricing properties for OOC benefits.
Weapons that can be realistically concealed (small pistols, knives) may be drawn without /me roleplay, except inside or immediately exiting vehicles. Large weapons (rifles, shotguns, axes) always require descriptive RP before scrolling.
Shooting from vehicles must also be properly emoted unless reacting defensively to incoming fire.
The /ad system is for in-character business and trade ads only. Illegal ads or OOC language are banned.
Ads should describe items realistically (e.g., “V8 engine” instead of “maxed out”).
Banned ads include: illegal items, firearm sales outside licensed shops, escort services, or spam/repeated posts.
Players must wait until all RP related to their death or injury concludes before returning to the scene. Usually, this means at least one hour or after all emergency roleplay is done.
Law enforcement characters killed on duty must wait until investigations conclude and may not rejoin related events.
Injuries must be roleplayed realistically — severe wounds require recovery time. The goal is immersion, not punishment; realism in recovery maintains story integrity.
1) Common Courtesy
Players must remain respectful out of character (OOC). Harassment, discrimination, or toxicity is forbidden, even in private or external Discords if it relates to OTB activities. Players must obey administrators’ instructions — disputes can later be appealed.
Roleplay (RP) must be maintained at all times, including injuries or accidents, even if unseen by others. Breaking roleplay mid-scene is not allowed; continue the RP and report later.

Suicide by Cops:
Purposely dying to avoid arrest (e.g., hopeless gunfights with police) leads to revival, double prison time, and possible warnings or bans.
3) Metagaming
Metagaming means mixing IC (in-character) and OOC information. Players cannot use external chats or OOC sources to influence in-game actions. Characters created by the same player cannot share info, help each other, or be part of the same storyline.
Examples: using Discord to find someone’s location, scouting on one character and acting on another, or referring to your alternate character.
4) Deathmatching (DM)
Killing without valid IC reason or provoking fights to justify killing is DM. Lethal force should only occur when truly necessary, such as life-threatening situations.
Vehicles may be used as weapons only if life is in danger and not excessively.
Law enforcement can only be murdered if there’s an active threat to life or guaranteed life imprisonment.
Melee combat targeting the head/throat is considered lethal only if roleplayed explicitly.
Example: shooting someone for racial reasons or minor disputes.
5) Character Customization
Characters must look realistic and appropriate for the RP world. Unrealistic or glitched appearances aren’t allowed. Clothing should match the weather and situation, and masks may only hide your name if your face is genuinely covered.
Players may use opposite-gender peds but must RP it correctly (e.g., explain surgery or physical traits). Overly sexualized or unrealistic public outfits are forbidden. Admins may force appearance changes if necessary.
6) Character Rules
Character names must be realistic and not copied from celebrities, media, or memes. They should fit the character’s culture and time period.

Each character must be distinct — no recycled personalities or avoiding consequences by name-changing. CKed (permanently killed) characters cannot return under related identities.
7) Third-Party Modifications
Any modification that gives an advantage (scripts, macros, binds, handling edits) is forbidden. Mods are allowed only for visual/aesthetic purposes and must not alter gameplay mechanics.
Controllers are allowed for driving/flying but not for shooting due to aim assist.
Example: using macros to automate RP, vehicle handling mods, or armor cheats.
8) Bug Abuse
Exploiting unintended bugs for personal gain is a severe rule break. Bugs must be reported immediately on the forums or to admins, even if unsure. Players who abuse or fail to report exploits (e.g., duplicating items, driving locked vehicles) risk permanent bans. Testing bugs is only allowed under admin supervision.
9) Offensive Roleplay

These scenes require consent from all participants and must occur in private or secluded areas. Entering knowingly implies consent; bystanders who dislike it should leave.
Examples: torturing without consent, describing gore excessively, or public sexual RP.
10) Robbing & Scamming
Robberies: cannot involve baiting through advertisements unless approved by an admin via /report.
Scams: capped at $55,000, excluding drugs or weapons (unlimited). Property scams (vehicles, houses) are forbidden. Loans must be honored — CK/name change to escape a debt leads to reversal and punishment.
Chain robberies without realistic portrayal are considered poor RP.
11) Property Destruction
Major or semi-permanent damage to another’s property (e.g., burning it down) requires admin approval. Minor graffiti or vandalism is fine without permission.
12) Anti-Crime Zones
To maintain realism, some map areas restrict or forbid crime:
- No Crime Zones (NCZs): total ban (airports, police buildings, stores, etc.).
- Restricted Crime Zones (RCZs): robberies/kidnappings need admin permission (e.g., downtown, beach promenades, university).
- Neutral Zones: unrestricted.
Faction members may commit limited crime in their home territories but should avoid abuse. Running into NCZs to escape crimes doesn’t grant protection.
Example: robbing someone at a gas station or Vespucci Beach without approval.
14) Real-World Trading & OOC Transfers
Trading in-game assets for real-world value or giving items to OOC friends without RP reasoning is forbidden.
Examples: selling guns for PayPal money, gifting cars to friends, or underpricing properties for OOC benefits.
15) Weapon Scrolling
Weapons that can be realistically concealed (small pistols, knives) may be drawn without /me roleplay, except inside or immediately exiting vehicles. Large weapons (rifles, shotguns, axes) always require descriptive RP before scrolling.
Shooting from vehicles must also be properly emoted unless reacting defensively to incoming fire.
17) Advertisement Rules

Ads should describe items realistically (e.g., “V8 engine” instead of “maxed out”).
Banned ads include: illegal items, firearm sales outside licensed shops, escort services, or spam/repeated posts.
21) Returning After Injuries or Death
Players must wait until all RP related to their death or injury concludes before returning to the scene. Usually, this means at least one hour or after all emergency roleplay is done.
